Plant Manager - Industrial Waste-to-Energy Power Plant (Construction & Operation)

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all on-site civil engineering activities for industrial waste-to-energy projects, including foundations, structural works, plant facilities, roads, drainage, and supporting infrastructure.

  • Ensure all construction works comply with design specifications, environmental regulations, safety standards, and local permitting requirements.

  • Collaborate with design engineers, consultants, and regulatory authorities to resolve technical challenges and ensure compliance with waste management and energy generation standards.

  • Lead site coordination meetings and regularly report on construction progress, issues, risks, and mitigation plans to project stakeholders.

  • Manage subcontractors, site personnel, and labor force with a focus on safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

  • Monitor construction timelines, budget utilization, and material/resource planning to support timely project completion.

  • Enforce strict compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards specific to waste handling and energy facility operations.

  • Oversee site logistics, including equipment delivery, material storage, and waste movement in accordance with environmental policies.

  • Perform regular quality inspections and ensure accurate documentation of site activities, deviations, and corrective actions.

  • Work closely with the Project Manager to proactively identify risks and implement corrective/preventive measures to optimize site operations.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control and Instrument Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in site management for infrastructure or energy-related projects; experience in waste-to-energy, biomass, or industrial waste facilities is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of civil construction methods, engineering standards, and regulatory compliance in the context of industrial waste or power generation.

  • Proven leadership and stakeholder coordination skills across contractors, government officials, and technical teams.

  • Solid knowledge of environmental health & safety practices, especially for hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

  • Ability to work in remote or multi-location project sites across provinces.

  • Good in English both written and verbal (Minimum 750 TOEIC score).
