Data Center - Procurement & Commercial Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end bidding, vendor pre-qualification, and onboarding.
  • Lead and execute tender processes, ensuring timely completion.
  • Evaluate technical and commercial proposals from vendors.
  • Oversee memo approval process related to tenders.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts with suppliers and contractors.
  • Define payment terms, insurance, bank guarantees, and tax compliance (BOI, Import Tax, WHT).
  • Manage post-contract vendor relationships and contract execution.
  • Act as liaison with Gulf Procurement Team.
  • Ensure accurate pricing, cost evaluation, and cash flow management.
  • Work with Quantity Surveyors (QS) to verify costs and optimize pricing.
  • Develop unit rate master table for fit-out cost proposals.
  • Justify and reduce costs based on design and procurement strategies.
  • Validate fit-out and construction cost calculations.
  • Optimize procurement strategy to minimize costs.
  • Ensure procurement processes meet regulatory and tax requirements.
  • Implement best practices for vendor selection and contract execution.

Job Qualifications

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for IT infrastructure, power equipment, cooling systems, and facility services to support data center operations.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including RFPs, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and purchase order execution, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality assurance.
  • Lead commercial negotiations to secure favorable terms in contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), warranties, and risk assessments while ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate policies.
  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and service providers to drive competitive pricing and long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across operations, finance, legal, and engineering teams to align procurement and commercial strategies with business objectives.
  • Monitor supplier performance using KPIs, conduct periodic reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and supply chain processes.
  • Develop financial models to assess procurement decisions, optimize cost savings, and support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, supplier performance, and market developments to mitigate risks and enhance procurement efficiencies.
